You’ll find everything from activities, to information explaining the support available to you and your child and where to go for independent advice.
How to use the Local Offer
To use the Local Offer choose from a range of information and advice.
Find out: What SEND is, what to do if you think your child has SEND, getting an assessment of your child’s needs and how support can change to meet those needs.
Information, support and advice: Find the right school in Brent, information on health services, the range of support and advice out there, help with travel and transport needs, financial support and more.
Things to do: A directory of things to do, including sporting activities, clubs and hobbies and short respite breaks.
2. Brent Parent Carer Forum
Brent Parent Carer Forum offers information, support and friendship for families of children and young people aged 0-25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We are the strategic voice of parent carers 0-25 living in Brent.
-we provide opportunities to meet together with other parents to share lived experiences
-we provide support to parents to access information and how to navigate the right services
-we run consultation and information monthly sessions 1 day time 1 evening
-we are parent-led and independent
-we are the official strategy the voice and the critical friend of health, education, and social care services in Brent

3. Brent Carers
Brent Carers Centre offer carers living in, or caring for a person living in, Brent an extensive range of information and advice services on all aspects of their caring responsibilities, via the operation of the Brent Carers Services Hub and other local initiatives.

6. Resources for Autism
Provide practical services for children and adults with an autistic spectrum condition and for their families and carers.

7. BOAT
The Brent outreach autism team works with children and young people who have been diagnosed on the autism spectrum. The service they provide is mostly school based with some advice and support offered to families. We support all children and young people at mainstream Brent schools, including sixth-forms, whether they live in the borough or not.

9. “Family Fund”
Are the UK’s largest provider of grants to low-income families raising disabled and seriously ill children and young people. They help ease the additional pressures families face.
10. NAS – Ladbroke Grove resource (website)
Ladbroke Grove Autism Centre supports people of all ages on the autism spectrum to help them achieve their full potential. They offer a safe and supportive environment in which children, young people and adults can meet other people, try new activities, explore interests and develop their confidence and independence.
