Physical Needs/Mobility
The School Physiotherapy (SPT) Team at The Village School collaborates with all therapists to help students develop their physical skills so that they can be as independent as possible in their everyday activities and participate in the school curriculum. The School Physiotherapy staff also supports the classroom team in promoting the students’ physical skills within the classroom.
The School Physiotherapy team covers all students (PMLD) with physical and mobility needs who are outside of the Borough of Brent. They receive physiotherapy sessions at school and facilitate necessary means, such as standing frames, walkers, etc. The team also has close contact with families and carers regarding their physiotherapy follow-up at home.
We work closely with the NHS physiotherapy department for the students who reside within the Borough of Brent and deliver similar physical management programmes throughout the day where applicable.
